The capital of  our Province and less than an hour's drive away.  It is a charming easy going city and the gateway to Laos.  We take our guests here to visit sites and have lunch on the river.

A strange sculpture park in Nong Khai and is listed as one of the Seven Wonders of Thailand.  The sculptures are huge and mysterious combining Buddhism and Hinduism.  Our guests get good luck from their birth animals, have their fortune told, feed thousands of huge jostling fish in the lakes, sound a variety of gongs, see the embalmed body of Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat and are fascinated by the huge sculptures.  Click for more.

This is a beautiful temple and the most important in Nong Khai.  The walls and ceiling are covered in murals.    A monk will bless you and throw holy water over you to give you luck.  You can donate and receive a certificate for a square metre of land for the Wat.   There are buddhist fortune telling sticks and much more.

We can arrange a boat trip up the Mekong River if you wish.  A meal can be served on the trip.  It is fascinating to see the differences between the river banks on the Thailand side and the Laos side.
